Out Of Time for six instruments (1998)

This work is scored for flute doubling on piccolo, clarinet doubling on bass clarinet, violin, 'cello, piano and percussion. The piece is in three large movements (fast, slow, fast) and features each of the instruments as well as groupings of the instruments in different secions. Although the piece is twenty-two minutes long, the composer recently conducted a wonderful performance using only two three hour rehearsals.

Transmogrifications II for flute and computer-generated sounds (1996)

In another work that combines live instrument with computer generated sounds, Transmogrifications II features the flute in tight counterpoint with sounds generated from flute samples. The score clearly indicates the synchronisation between the two parts making it easier for the performer to learn the music. The piece is six and one-half minutes in duration. Mr. Jones has also written works for horn and tape (Transmogrifications I) and two violins and tape (into an ultimate realm).

He is currently working on a piece for clarinet and live computer generated sounds (Transmogrifications III).

Triple Crown for clarinet, 'cello and piano (1999)

This is the second in a series of works written for the Omega Ensemble that feature the clarinet in a jazz-oriented style. Although the piece sounds improvised, all of the music has been written out for the players. Triple Crown is in three movements (a light swing movement, a slow ballad and a fast movement based on twelve bar blues) and is  approximately twelve minutes in duration. The other two works in the series are Steeplechaser and Win, Place or Show
